Questions & answers
Before you request a proposal
Is there a cost or obligation to request a proposal?
No. The proposal, the meeting with your board and the review of your documents are free, and you are under no obligation to move forward.
What happens after we submit the form?
We review the details you provide, then a member of our business development team contacts the person you named to talk through the community's current situation, challenges and goals. From that conversation we prepare a written proposal for the board and present it at a time that suits you.
What should we have ready?
Nothing is required to start — the form asks only for the basics. When we meet, it helps to have the governing documents, the current budget, the most recent financial statements, the current management contract (if any) and a list of the issues the board most wants solved.
We are under contract with another company. Can we still get a proposal?
Yes. Many boards request proposals before their current agreement's notice window so they can compare options in time. Your existing contract sets the notice period and termination terms; we will plan the timing around them.
Our community is self-managed. Is the process the same?
Yes. The proposal covers the same ground — property, finances and homeowner service — and the transition plan focuses on moving the records, bank accounts and vendor relationships from volunteers to a professional team without a gap in service.
Who should submit the request?
Usually a board member, the board president or the chair of a management-search committee. Homeowners who are not on the board are welcome to point their board to this page; the engagement itself is a decision of the association's board.
